Introducing my OCs' Side Order arc: Your Side of Order!*

(formerly known as Order Tower; the whole Pizza Tower Side Order/Order Tower joke got old so I changed the name of the arc)

In this arc, Hope & Anyo are on a mission in order to find out where April & Ashley went after disappearing a month before the events of the story. The duo then end up in the Order Sector, where they meet Orion, an ex-elite octoling soldier who's been trapped in the Order Sector for more than a year, and their pet sea bunny, Binx. Despite Orion's distaste for Anyo's hybrid octoling lineage, the group, with the help of Pearl drone and dedf1sh, make their way up the Spire of Order, hoping to find answers & a way out of the simulation. Along the way, the group meet some new allies and familiar faces, learn a bit more about each other, and learn a bit more about themselves.

Also, while I'm giving this synopsis of the arc, I might as well adress the elephant in the room: Hope's arm in the parody art. This will be further explored in the arc, but in the begining of the arc, Hope attempts to figure out where the wormholes in the real Inkopolis Square lead to (since those little pixelated voids in the Side Order trailer, in this story, popped up in the real Inkopolis Square, making up parts of the forcefield around the area. these wormholes serve as enterances to the Order Sector and once you go through one, you can't get out of the Order Sector). She tries sticking one of her arms into one of the wormholes, only for it to get stuck. After trying to free herself from the wormhole with the help of Anyo, a good chunk of Hope's arm disappears into the wormhole, leaving Hope injured. After a month of treatment, Anyo gives Hope a new, custom made prosthetic arm that functions just like a biological arm (since it uses Hope's ink to power it). The arm also grants Hope some new abilities that'll be showcased in the arc.

In the arc, I plan to explore Anyo & Hope's characters a bit more. Since Splatoon 3 is the end of the current story arc in the series, I wanna cap things off when it comes to my OCs through Your Side of Order and another story arc featuring Kandi and Annie (since they're not in the Your Side of Order arc). In Your Side of Order specifically, the lore of the hybrid octolings will be explored, Hope's family dynamic & her character will be expanded more upon in the arc, and possibly more plotpoints will be explored alongside the canon events of Side Order.

More news on the other story arc I'm planning for my OCs will be revealed later this year. But for now, I'm just gonna say that this other arc happens at the same time that Your Side of Order takes place in.

Chapters of Your Side of Order will be posted on my Toyhouse soon (starting possibly next month because ya know February is basically the month before spring ergo the month before Side Order releases if it does release in March. also the first chapter/prolouge of the arc happens a month before the actual events of Side Order so it all lines up).

Hey everyone! Now with xmas outta the way practically nothing else is really happening this year except for New Year's Eve, which means 2023 is another year in the books!

Here's a highlight reel of the year in order (sort of idk):

• January - My track Blissful Ecstacy gets frontpaged on Newgrounds and a month later gets noticed by luminoghost himself!
• February - The Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass gets revealed to the world, launching me as well as others into speculation on whatever the hell Side Order's plot is gonna be, a state of insanity that would last until Spetember (unless if you're like me and found out about the leaked Side Order files that were datamined sometime in the summer!)
• March - Wave 1 of Splatoon 3's Expansion Pass comes out alongside Fresh Season 2023. Anyways, Cereza and the Lost Demon came out and boy was it hella fun to play!
• April - My birthday was on the 13th and we also had the Zelda splatfest that month, which was pretty neat :D. Also, Cult of the Lamb's first major content update came out. I wouldn't be able to actually play this thing until a few months later because of some bug connected to the reclics room.
• May - Tears of the Kingdom came out and I'd end up spending a month plus away from S3 trying to finish the game.
• June - The disapointment of a season known as Sizzle Season 2023 comes out and I'm still working on TotK, only finishing it halfway through the month and then finally experiencing Sizzle Season myself shortly after finishing TotK. Also, school went out for me that month :D
• July - It was either this month or August where we got the summer nintendo direct. Still no Side Order, but we got the announcement of Princess Peach Showtime tho!
• August - School started up again and it felt like being dragged back to hell. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, formerly known as the Jet Set Radio 3 that never was, came out but I didn't get to play until September.
• September - A bombshell hits the Splatoon community shortly after the catastrophe known as the fallout after Shiver v Frye v Big Man as a full trailer for Side Order comes out in the September direct, revealing that Agent 8 would be returning to the game, Pearl has been turned into a drone, the Inkopolis Square we play in isn't the actual Inkopolis Square but a replica of it, and most importaintly DEDF1SH WOULD BE AN IMPORTAINT CHARACTER IN THE DLC. Also I consumed as much media related to Dear Evan Hansen this month for some reason.
• October - Spooky month. Nothing much happened this month besides me ending my long running Hellbent Concept OST series tbh so moving on...
• November - My track Hellfish Heretic would get frontpaged on Newgrounds and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off released on Netflix.
• December - To cap off the entire year I basically turned into a full fledged victim (the Killers fan) by listening to a bunch of their music & listening to video essays on folks tryna piece together the story of the Murder Trilogy, even doing so myself over here on tumblr some time ago. Also I finally played Deltarune and I'm currently starting Undertale (now I have to unlearn everything I did in Deltarune just so I can play Undertale lmao).

This year didn't start off that great for me, but it eventually improved as the months went by, to be honest. Got two more tracks on the front page of Newgrounds, my art improved a bunch over the past year for the most part, and I've gotten a few more followers across all my socials (not a lot but it's something!), so this year wasn't too bad.

Now, what am I gonna do in the next year when it comes to my own content? Well, of course I'm gonna continue with my usual writing pieces, art, music, ect., but I'm also gonna throw in some extra bigger projects into the mix as well! Because Side Order comes out next year, I'll be starting finally writing my Splatoon OCs' Side Order arc stories (I've been teasing the arc for a while now), as well as reworking and finally writing other stories about my OCs as well. Also, I plan on starting a seperate blog for a story surrounding Ribbon & WD sometime next year! The story is being worked on right now and I plan on structuring the blog as part ask blog for Ribbon & WD and part comic sorta thing, so something similar to that one fannmade Splatoon comic #14 crush.

Anyways, hope y'all had a great year and I hope y'all have a greater 2024. If you've been sticking around my blog this entire time, thanks for being there to see my stuff. If you're just finding out about my existence via this post you should give me a follow if ya want :D

Welp, I guess now that I've been listening to a lot of the Killers' music (especially songs from their 1st album, Hot Fuss), I might as well talk about the Murder Trilogy. Now, despite the fact that the Murder Trilogy mainly consists of 3 songs (Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf, Midnight Show, and Jenny Was A Friend of Mine), I've seen lots of other people tie in the rest of Hot Fuss into the story & I kinda think I can work every song in Hot Fuss (and Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf) into the story, so anyways, here we go.

• Andy You're a Star: the intro to this story, introducing our protagonist & the story that has yet to unfold. The protagonist appears to be well respected among those living in his town & is a football player, possibly in his senior year of high school considering the events of this story.
• Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll: We get another peek into the life of our protagonist, Andy, who has a side gig as a tamborine player in an indie rock band. It appears this is also where we first find out about Jenny, the drummer of the band. It appears that their relationship isn't the best considering how much they "make up & break up", yet they still stay together (not the smartest decision, especially considering the rest of the story).
• On Top: A peek into Andy & Jenny's relationship. That's all I'm gonna say here folks.
• Somebody Told Me: The events of this song possibly happens some time after Andy's high school years (so he's basically in his early 20s or something) considering that it's implied that this takes place in a club of sorts. Andy catches Jenny cheating on him with another dude one night and is pissed off about it. Soon enough, Andy attempts to confront Jenny about the cheating, but she walks away from Andy to be with the other guy she was with.
• Mr. Brightside: After being left in the dust by Jenny for the night, Andy does some stalking & finds Jenny making out with the guy she was with. While watching them, Andy attempts to calm himself down (hence why he calls himself "Mr. Brightside", which is what others view Andy as; the guy who has it all).
• Change Your Mind: After the night at the club, Andy invites Jenny to his place in attempt to fix their relationship, but it doesn't work.
• Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf: Some time after the events of the previous song, Andy moves away from his old home and recalls the events of Change Your Mind in a drunken stupor, which leads us to...
• Everything Will Be Alright: Still drunk from the last song, Andy goes out and searches for Jenny, leading up to the events of the next song...
• Midnight Show (aka my fave song from the Killers): Andy kidnaps Jenny in a drunken rage & then ultimately kills her.
• Believe Me Natalie: The day after the murder, Andy realizes what he has done and ultimately feels guilty about killing his ex. He then decides to spend some time with one of his bandmates, the tititular Natalie, and tells her about what happened to Jenny & aknowledges the fact that the cops might be coming after him soon.
• Jenny Was a Friend of Mine: The cops finally come after Andy and take him in for questioning. In attempt to keep a clean record, Andy tries to establish an aliby, but it's no use.
• All These Things That I've Done: Some time after the interogation, Andy knows that there's no way he'll be able to get out of this. He deeply regrets what he's done, but in the end, justice is going to be served. Jenny will be at peace since the police caught her overly controlling ex.
• Smile Like You Mean It: The ending of our story. In Andy's final days of freedom, he reflects on his life. He thinks about his ex bandmates and how they'll carry on life without him. And most importaintly, Andy remembers the good times he had with Jenny. And thus ends the story of Hot Fuss.

TL;DR: Hot Fuss is about an abusive bf who had it all, only to lose everything after killing his gf.

Yo. After a year since my track Judgement Day got frontpaged, it's recently been getting more and more attention and it's almost at 4000 listens now. It's so close!

We need to get this track to 4000 listens before the end of 2023 y'all.

I dunno what I'll do if we do get there, maybe I'll just draw what I had in mind for the angel grandmaster's design or something like that, but I just wanna get the track to 4000 listens since it's only just 78 listens or so away from that milestone.

Um... so I might be stepping back from making fan content relating to Hellbent, which also kinda sorta means I'm calling off my Hellbent Bot AU project (there's just no way i'm gonna be able to draw out the insane designs for characters on my shitty ass chromebook with a computer mouse). I feel like I kinda grew outta Hellbent (either that or it's because I can hardly find anything online when it comes to fan content or anything like that and I'm bored) so I feel like I'm just gonna stop myself right here. After the success of my track Hellfish Heretic on Newgrounds, I kinda want to work on my own stuff a bit more like expanding upon the world of my Cult of the Lamb OCs, working on writing stories based on my Splatoon OCs (like my Side Order storyline, rewriting April's RotM story, & even finally writing out Anyo, Hope, and Ashley's hero mode stories since they're long overdue for their own storylines), and music making outside of my Hellbent concept stuff, of course! But that's not to say that I'm stepping away from Hellbent entirely; I still might do a few things relating to Hellbent, but it won't be as frequent anymore.

Shortly after posting the tumblr version of this post I got rid of the Hellbent Bot AU blog, but that doesn't mean everything posted there is lost media now. Stuff I made for the AU is sill gonna stay up both over here & on tumblr, including all my Hellbent concept stuff ('cause you know... Judgement Day & Blissful Ecstacy exist & were frontpaged)

So lately I've been seeing a bunch of discourse about the splattercolor screen and how it's been affecting people playing the game. Now personally I'm not affected by this special in a negative way, but I still sort of think this special shouldn't have had the effects it has. Ever since the reveal of this special, I kept wondering "why is this gonna be in the game? won't this cause problems for folks playing the game?". And sure enough, that's what's happening. Almost a week or so into the update and problems are already surfacing.

I feel like this special shouldn't have been handled the way it was. It's clearly causing issues in the community and I hope something is done to fix this problem soon.

In the meantime, I offer a few solutions to the splattercolor screen problem that don't involve completely deleting the special:

• Instead of turning the screen black & white, the fog effect from Salmon Run should be applied to the splattercolor screen. The fog in Salmon Run makes it hard to see salmonids, so if this is applied to the splattercolor screen, it'd make things harder for the enemy team to see the special's user but it won't cause them much harm besides, you know, not seeing the enemy team. This is a solution I've seen folks online talk about a lot.
• Making it appear that there's more members of the enemy team than there actually is (so basically spawning clones when you come into contact w/ the splattercolor screen). Since the splattercolor screen's gimick is basically disorting reality for a bit, maybe instead of causing the screen to go black & white, the screen can cause players who come into contact with the splattercolor screen to see things that aren't actually there, like extra enemy team players. There wouldn't be much of an effect on the screen like with the current splattercolor screen; it's just that it'll appear that the enemy team has more players.
• Turning the enemy's ink color into your own team's color. Basically if you come into contact with the screen, it'll appear that you're surrounded by nothing but your team's ink when in reality alongside your ink there's enemy ink in the area. Yet another take on the splattercolor screen's reality disorting abilites.

Those were just a few solutions to this whole splattercolor screen situation. I feel like if this special had a completely different effect it'd work perfectly, but as of now the problem with splattercolor still stands. If the Splatoon devs attempt to fix the splattercolor screen I hope they keep the idea of disorting reality in mind, just not in a way that might harm people in some way. But hey, those are just my two cents on this situation. If anyone experiencing problems with this special is reading this feel free to share your experience with this special and if anyone has a suggestion on how this special can be fixed feel free to tell me what you have in mind in the comments.

Just a random update: I'm tryna get a toyhouse account up and running so I'll probably be moving all of my OC bios over to toyhouse if I manage to get an invite code. With that being said, the blog posts I've made with my OCs' info on 'em will possibly be deleted once I get everything set up. But hey if I do get the account all set up I think I'll probs upgrade the bios to be a bit more descriptive and I might throw in some extra stuff too ^w^

I'll post another update if/when I get this all set up & if/when I have all of my OCs' stuff uploaded to toyhouse.
